Associate Professor Ong Ker-Shing has been Programme Director for BA Architecture since 2020. She started DOA’s Design Summer Camp in 2022, an annual three-week immersive programme introducing participants to the conceptual approaches and skills related to the design professions.

Ker-Shing continues to be active in practice. She is a registered Architect, having received her Master degrees (with distinction) in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from Harvard GSD where she was also granted the Wheelwright Traveling Fellowship in 2002.’

She is the co-founder and Director of Lekker Architects, an award winning practice focused on design innovation and qualitative research methods.The work in her practice has earned a President’s Design Award Design of the Year in 2023 for “Hack Care: Tips and Tricks for a Dementia-Friendly Home” and in 2016 for “Caterpillar’s Cove Childcare and Development Centre,” as well as Ker-Shing’s inclusion into the third edition of the prestigious “20 Under 45” series organised by URA.

Ker-Shing currently sits on the Evaluation Panel for the Design Singapore Council’s Good Design Research grant, the Advisory Board of the Preservation of Sites and Monuments, and was elected to the Council of the Singapore Institute of Architects for 2023-2024.
