Pieter Herthogs is Assistant Professor in computational design at the Department of Architecture (DOA), College of Design and Engineering, National University of Singapore.

Prof. Herthogs’s work combines Design Evaluation and Knowledge Representation to develop approaches that bridge disciplines and domains. Together with his team, he applies these to three design levels: urban system design (city planning, planning regulations, urban modelling & simulation), urban space design (public space quality, walkability), and architectural design (building adaptation & circular construction).

Prof. Herthogs is an Investigator of the projects Semantic Urban Elements (Future Cities Lab Global programme) and Circular Future Cities (Future Cities Lab Global programme). He was Investigator and Project Leader of the project Cities Knowledge Graph (Intra-CREATE thematic: cities).

Before joining DOA, he worked as a Senior Researcher and Investigator at the Singapore-ETH Centre. Dr Herthogs holds a Doctorate in Engineering and a Master and Bachelor degree in Architectural Engineering from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium).
