Dr. Jinda Qi is an assistant professor in the Department of Architecture, College of Design and Engineering. As a landscape architect, his research focuses on how design technology can automate the design process and potentially complement experts' designs, ultimately improving the urban living environment. His work contributes to the AI-based decision-making process for urban heat mitigation and quantitative landscape design for health promotion.

Jinda holds a PhD in Built Environment from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He has extensive working experience in both academic and industry settings across different countries, like Australia, China, New Zealand and Singapore. His work is highly practical, leading to collaborations with governments and industry leaders, such as the National Park Board of Singapore. He is (co-)author of some book chapters and over 30 publications in prestigious journals. He has also taken academic roles as a PI and Co-PI on funded projects, grant reviewer of national funding, international design competition panels, and editorial boards and guest editor of several journals.
