3+1+1 Education Framework
What's Special About This Programme
What’s Available?
We offer three programmes under the 3+1+1 scheme, including
- Master of Science (Safety, Health & Environmental Technology)
- Master of Science (Chemical Engineering)
- Master of Engineering (Chemical Engineering)
Advantages of the 3+1+1 Programme Compared with Conventional Master of Science and Master of Engineering Programmes
- Compared with conventional Master of Science programme, students in the 3+1+1 programme will be staying in NUS for two full years before getting his/her masters’ degree. That ensures the students to have enough time for quality training. Students will also be able to better decide and plan his/her future career path.
- Compared with conventional Master of Engineering programme, which requires two years to finish, students will get the degree after only one year post-graduate study (the second “1” in the “3+1+1”). This saves both time and cost. Since the entire duration of the training is still two full years at NUS, there is no compromise on the training quality.
- Selection of candidates occur in year 3 during UG study. Successful candidates will enjoy a much less stressful final year focusing on studying and future planning at NUS.
