MSc (Chemical Engineering) Programme

The Master of Science (Chemical Engineering) is one of our most established master programmes offered at NUS.  We are dedicated to equip our students with advanced scientific and technological knowledge.  Our aim is to develop engineers who are adaptable, flexible as well as technically proficient to tackle an increasingly interdisciplinary, collaborative and global work environment.  We are focused in fostering versatility that leads to more professional options while at the same time offer a firm grounding in the broad fundamentals of chemical engineering and familiarity with several specialised areas.

Curriculum Structure

Degree Requirements At least 40 units* (typically ten 4 units courses)
Candidature Full-time minimum 1 year – maximum 2 years
Part-time minimum 2 years – maximum 4 years
Graduation Requirements GPA of at least 3.00 (equivalent to an average of B-)

*Units – each MSc course is typically 4 units.

Programme Fees Structure & Fee Rebate

The fees for Master of Science (Chemical Engineering) programme is as follow:
AY2023/2024, January 2024 intake (Applications open from 25 Jul - 31 Aug 2023)
AY2024/2025, August 2024 early admission intake (Applications open from 1 Jul - 31 Aug 2023)
AY2024/2025, August 2024 regular admission intake (Applications open from 1 Oct 2023 - 31 Mar 2024)

Admission

Eligibility At least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or its equivalent.
English Requirement TOEFL (internet-based test)> 85 or IELTS (academic)> 6.0 is required if your first language is not English. You may be waived from this requirement if you have completed your degree programme taught entirely in English, situated in an English speaking country, for example (non-exhaustive list) Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, United Kingdom, USA.
The TOEFL/IELTS result is only valid for 2 years after the test and should be valid at the beginning of the application period.
Application Our Master of Science programme is open twice a year.
