At this year’s NUS University Awards, two faculty members from our department were recognised for what truly defines leadership in research, mentorship, and in shaping future talent.
Assistant Professor Yi Hou received the Young Researcher Award for pioneering advances in perovskite solar cell technology, pushing the boundaries of efficiency and translating lab innovation into real-world energy solutions.
Professor Yan Ning was honoured with the Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award for his deep commitment to guiding and inspiring the next generation of researchers. His mentorship empowers students to grow into confident, independent thinkers and leaders.
In his address, NUS President Professor Tan Eng Chye commended this year’s award recipients for their impact and dedication.
“Our award winners inspire us to renew our purpose and determination to strive for quality and excellence,” he said.
