Dr Lum Yanwei wins the ASEAN-ROK Award for Excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation in the NEXT ASEAN Innovator category.
This annual award is supported by the Republic of Korea (ROK), the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), and the ASEAN Committee of Science, Technology and Innovation (COSTI) to encourage young scientists and engineers to contribute further on research in the area of Science, Technology and Innovation. The award was open to any field of natural sciences or engineering and reaches out to scientists and engineers in ASEAN who aim to establish joint research partnerships with the scientific community in the Republic of Korea (ROK).
Dr Lum Yanwei is an Assistant Professor and NRF Fellow (Class of 2022) in our Department under the NUS Presidential Young Professorship. His research focuses on renewable energy, and in particular electrochemistry. Electrochemistry is important for hydrogen production, carbon dioxide conversion to chemicals and energy storage in batteries: technologies that are vital for building a sustainable and green future.
