Infineum Singapore-NUS Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Scholarship
Background
Infineum is a world leader in the formulation, manufacturing and marketing of petroleum additives for lubricants and fuels. Established in January 1999, Infineum is a joint venture of two of the most well-known names in lubricants and fuels, ExxonMobil and Shell. Infineum draws on a rich heritage that is underpinned by leading edge research and development activities. For nearly 80 years, Infineum has been innovators of additive products, including those used in automotive, heavy-duty diesel and marine engine oils, diesel fuels and specialty applications such as transmission fluids and industrial oils.
Infineum Singapore intends to launch the Infineum Singapore-NUS Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Scholarship in conjunction with the Singapore’s Golden Jubilee year (SG50) marking 50 years since the country first gained its independence in 1965. The company has made an upfront payment of $45,000 for the inaugural Infineum Singapore scholarship to students in the B.Eng. (Chemical Engineering).
Selection Committee
The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE), which had been working with Infineum Singapore to establish this award, will coordinate the award of the Infineum Singapore-NUS Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Scholarship and form the selection committee comprising several academic staff members from the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed and selected by the selection committee. The selection committee has the sole discretion in the short-listing and selection of candidates and may not award any scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit.
Selection Criteria
The Department will call for applications and the scholarship will be awarded each year in August.
The Scholarship will only consider Stage 3 and 4 students from the B.Eng. (Chemical Engineering) programme, who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents only. Applicants shall be considered based on strong academic results with at least a Cumulative Average Point (CAP) of 4.0 at the end of Stage 2 and Stage 3, respectively.
Applicants should not be a concurrent recipient of any other form of aid such as grants, bursaries and scholarships without the prior approval from the respective awarding bodies. An applicant should not be a recipient of any other scholarship that obligates him/her to work for the donor of the other scholarship.
The award recipient from Stage 3 will be encouraged to undergo internship with Infineum Singapore.

NUS offers a variety of undergraduate scholarships and awards in recognition of outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities and special talents.
Financial Aid
NUS financial aid packages may comprise a combination of loans, bursary and work-study assistance. While there is a common period for application, should you need assistance after the closing date, your request will still be considered.
