Visit by Tsinghua University and buildingSMART China Delegation

The Department of the Built Environment hosted a delegation from Tsinghua University and buildingSMART China on 20 March 2025 for a discussion on Building Information Modelling (BIM) and automated code compliance checking technologies.

The delegation comprised Dr. Gao Ge, Prof. Gu Ming, Dr. Du Xinyi, and Mr. Wei Lai, Secretary General of buildingSMART China. Prior to their visit, they conducted a sharing session with students from the Advanced BIM module, presenting their work on customizable BIM checking based on OpenBIM and open code. The session was followed by an engaging discussion with faculty members on potential collaborations in research and education.

We look forward to future opportunities for meaningful collaboration with Tsinghua University and buildingSMART China.
