7th International Building Physics Conference (IBPC 2018): Outstanding Paper Award

The Department congratulates Professor Lam Khee Poh, along with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) PhD candidates Zhiang Zhang and Chenlu Zhang, for receiving an Outstanding Paper Award at the 7th International Building Physics Conference (IBPC) for their paper entitled “A Deep Reinforcement Learning Method for Model-based Optimal Control of HVAC Systems.” Their research paper was one of only six papers to receive an award out of over 200 peer-reviewed accepted papers at the conference. The event took place on September 23-26, 2018 in Syracuse, New York.

Congratulations, Professor Chandra Sekhar and Associate Professor Tham Kwok Wai, on the publication of their article in the prestigious Science Journal! They were part of a team of international scientists led by Professor Lidia Morawska, Queensland University of Technology, Australia, who published an article calling for mandating indoor air quality (IAQ) standards in public buildings.
