Congratulations to our PhD student Chun Fu, under Dr. Clayton Miller, for his team’s win in the Siemens Hackathon 2023!! 🎉
Chun Fu’s team clinched the first prize of €5,000 with their innovative solution to model prosumer behaviour to enable sustainable grid management in the track of “Swarm Behaviour on the Grid” under the theme of “Tech for Sustainability”.
The challenge aimed to accelerate the energy transition of grids by developing efficient and sustainable grid planning and operation software. Their team’s solution addressed this challenge by proposing a forecasting model for energy consumption using proxy data of human behaviour, such as Google Trends and Twitter.
