FACULTY AWARDS & RECOGNITION
Dr Liu Haokun and Professor Richard Liew received the Best Composite Structures Award at the International Conference on Advances in Steel-Concrete Composite Structures 2024

Dr Liu Haokun and Professor Richard Liew received the Best Composite Structures Award at the International Conference on Advances in Steel-Concrete Composite Structures (ASCCS 2024) for their paper on the collapse resistance mechanism of beam-CFST column composite sub-assemblages with fully bolted connections, selected as the best among 195 submissions. The ASCCS Conference, now in its 13th edition since its inception in 1985, focuses on topics such as seismic analysis, progressive collapse, fire engineering, material properties, and structural reliability.
IEEE Fellow Class of 2025

Congratulations to the following faculty members from the NUS Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for being elevated to the IEEE Fellow Class 2025, effective 1 January 2025.
Professor Biplab Sikdar has been recognised for his contributions to the security and privacy of the Internet of Things and cyber-physical systems. His impactful research strengthens the safety and privacy of connected technologies worldwide.
Associate Professor Mandar Anil has been recognised for contributions to underwater acoustic interference modelling and the development of acoustic communication networking protocols. This recognition celebrates his pioneering work in underwater communication technologies.
Professor Yang Hyunsoo has been recognised for his contributions to controlling spintronic materials and devices for memories and terahertz technology. His cutting-edge work is shaping the future of advanced memory and communication technologies.
The grade of Fellow, the highest grade of IEEE membership, is conferred upon IEEE Senior Members with outstanding records of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. Each year, this honour is limited to no more than 0.1% of the total IEEE voting membership.
Dr Zhao Zhenyu named 2025 IEEE EMC Society Young Professional Ambassador

Congratulations to Dr Zhao Zhenyu, who has been named a 2025 IEEE EMC Society Young Professional Ambassador. This honour recognises outstanding young researchers (those who graduated with their first professional degree within the past 15 years) worldwide who have made innovative contributions and discoveries in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and signal integrity and power integrity (SIPI).
In this role, Dr Zhao and other ambassadors will enhance engagement in the fields of EMC and SIPI by delivering talks on specific topics. Dr Zhao’s discussion topics include:
- Non-Contact Online Impedance Measurement Technology
- Measurement and Modeling of EMI Chokes in Power Electronics
