Innovative design for community impact: Associate Professor Florian Heinzelmann's Warak Kayu Microlibrary project celebrates gold at Arcasia Awards 2024

Associate Professor Florian Heinzelmann from the Department of Architecture and SHAU lead was recognised as a Gold Winner at the Arcasia Awards for Architecture 2024 in the Public Amenity – Institutional Buildings category for the Warak Kayu Microlibrary project in Semarang, Indonesia. This project is the fifth in the Microlibrary series, an initiative by SHAU to promote reading by creating multifunctional community spaces that are environmentally friendly and designed for low-income neighbourhoods.

Emeritus Professor Goh Thong Ngee awarded IEOM Distinguished Professor Award 2025

Emeritus Professor Goh Thong Ngee received the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) Distinguished Professor Award at the 15th Annual International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM 2025). This award recognises individuals who have demonstrated exemplary performance in research, teaching, creative activities, and/or service with a national or international reputation in the industrial engineering and operations management profession.
Professor Goh's award was in recognition and appreciation of his distinguished contributions to higher education, particularly in advancing the academic discipline and research of Industrial Engineering. His outstanding community service and unwavering support have significantly enriched the profession.
