Why market-driven energy may work better in a crisis

When energy runs low in a crisis, such as a blackout caused by a major storm, we tend to assume that equal rationing would be the logical answer. But that may not be what people actually want.
Assoc Prof Jimmy Peng (Electrical and Computer Engineering) says a recent study shows a strong preference for market-driven energy solutions - even in emergencies - where flexibility and choice come first.
