AruControls is a set of physical modules that can be personalised for digital interactions. The physical modules are made with AruCo markers, which enables the detection of a physical interaction using computer vision. When detected, the computer will respond accordingly depending on what one indicates on the app.

By coding according to marker detection methods rather than the physical module in itself, AruControls is able to support a wide variety of physical interactions.

The AruControls app lets you pick a module with a corresponding marker detection method, and then select any desired computer keypress you wish to map to.
The system utilises computer vision to detect appropriate inputs.
We ran multiple experiments to ensure the accuracy and consistency of marker detection.
