Shorter BTO wait times possible as HDB trials new tech with success

On CNA News, Assoc Prof Daniel Wong said adopting new construction methodologies allows the sector to achieve uncommon levels of productivity gains while upskilling the workforce. 

New construction technologies trialled for the first time by the Housing and Development Board could mean shorter waiting times for homeowners. One expert says their adoption can help with upskilling manpower, while reducing the sector's reliance on labour. 

Assoc Prof Daniel Wong from the Department of the Built Environment said that achieving such significant productivity improvements is rare, noting that the adoption of novel construction methods plays a crucial role in driving overall industry enhancement and reducing reliance on labour.
