Building an Urban Science Community in Singapore

The main objectives of our research workshop was to:

(1) introduce NUS Cities, its Research Roadmap, featuring urban systems and science-driven research, and the work of our researchers

(2) seek ideas and guidance from the Singapore urban science community, especially how NUS Cities complements and supports the work of agencies adn other IHLs.

We had around 100 participants from various agencies such as JTC, URA, CLC and NParks, and other IHLs such as NTU, SUTD and SMU. Mr. Peter Ho and Professor Luis Bettencourt delivered the keynote addresses, while ODPRT DP Professor Chen Tsuhan delivered a summary address. Various heads of agencies such as Dr. Hee Limin of CLC, Mr. Ng Lang, LTA CEO, Mr. Tan Chong Lee, NParks Assistant CEO, and representatives from IHLs such as Prof Thomas Schroepfer from SUTD and Prof Chew Lock Yue from NTU.
