MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN!

Dear students, alumni, colleagues, and partners of CDE,
Once again, our CDE faculty and students were in full force for the NUS Open House on 8 March. The main event, held at the UTown campus, showcased our 15 undergraduate programmes, second majors and minors as well as CDE innovations at the “Innovation & Impact Hub,” including BARC. This unique and immersive gaming experience reimagines player interaction. It was designed by Yong Zhen Zhou (DID Class of 2022) with contributions from Joshua Tan (Year 3 DID student and intern at the Interactive Materials Lab).
At home base, our CDE campus also welcomed visitors to the Robotics Fair and various tours: the Design Learning Facilities Tour, the Innovation & Design Tour, and the Biomedical, Chemical, Materials Science and Engineering Tour. My thanks to all who came together and gave their time wholeheartedly to support our Open House. Our warm CDE community spirit was certainly very much on display.
As we head into the end of the second semester of the academic year AY 2024/2025, we can look forward to project presentations and gradshows featuring the work of our graduating students. Do give them your support by attending these sessions, and wish them all the best as they launch into their careers following commencement.
We are heading into a long weekend with 28 March being NUS Wellbeing Day, and 31 March being Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I wish all our Muslim colleagues, students and alumni a Happy Hari Raya, and hope that all will take the time to reconnect with loved ones and to recharge!
