CDE talent advances Singapore’s city in nature vision through leadership appointments
Ms Hwang Yu-Ning, an alumna of the College of Design and Engineering (Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, Class of 1994), NUS, will take on the role of Chief (Urban Innovation & Excellence) at the Ministry of National Development from 1 June 2026, following her tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the National Parks Board (NParks).
During her leadership, NParks strengthened its adoption of science, research and technology to advance Singapore’s City in Nature vision, while deepening engagement with diverse stakeholders across the community.
She will be succeeded by Professor Tan Puay Yok, a faculty member from CDE's Department of Architecture, NUS, who currently serves NParks as Executive Director and Chief Science and Technology Officer, as well as Group Director of the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
These leadership transitions reflect the continued contributions of the CDE community in shaping Singapore’s urban development and environmental sustainability.
