The first run of the 3-day Energy and Decarbonisation Youth Programme 2024 was successfully completed between 12-14 March 2024. The programme was held at the Education Resource Centre, University Town, and was facilitated by Prof Ang Beng Wah and Dr Goh Tian from the ISEM Department, and supported by ExxonMobil.
A total of 34 students from Nanyang Girls High School attended the 3-day programme and learnt about issues surrounding sustainability, climate change, as well as the role of energy in decarbonization. To better understand how energy plays a crucial role in the global green transition, as well as the challenges and opportunities for decarbonization in Singapore, the students embarked on a learning journey to Jurong Island to have a firsthand look at the refinery and chemicals sector. Students were able to interact with academics and industry experts, to gain insights into the green transition.
