Student Medal and Prizes
National Semiconductor Gold Medal and Prize
Donated in 1994 by the National Semiconductor Manufacturer (NSM) Pte Ltd, a cash prize is awarded to the capital sum of $15,000. In 1997, NSM donated an additional $25,000 for award of another gold medal.
The award is governed by the following conditions:
- Subject to rule 3 below, the gold medal will be awarded to the higher degree graduate in the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Management who has published the best research paper that has been accepted/published by an international journal.
- The cash prize and medal will be awarded by the Board of Graduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
- No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
- The prize, valued at $350, will be in the form of cash.
- This gift shall be governed by the University Statutes and Regulations, specifically, Statute 7 on Gifts to the University and the corresponding Regulation.
