New Faculty and Staff
Professor Shang Li
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Before joining NUS, Professor Shang Li served as Deputy Director and Chief Architect of Intel Labs China and held faculty positions at Fudan University and the University of Colorado Boulder. His research lies at the intersection of computer systems and artificial intelligence, focusing on AI infrastructure, embodied intelligence, VLSI, and EDA. He has published more than 200 research papers and received multiple best paper awards and nominations. He is a recipient of the US National Science Foundation CAREER Award. In addition to his academic work, Prof Shang has founded two successful start-ups whose products have reached customers in more than 40 countries and regions worldwide. He received his PhD in Computer Engineering from Princeton University.
Professor Yang Changhuei
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering | Department of Biomedical Engineering
Professor Yang Changhuei is joining Electrical and Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering following a distinguished career at Caltech, where he held the Thomas G. Myers Professorship and served as Executive Officer of Electrical Engineering. His return to Singapore is supported in part by the NRF RSSS program. A pioneer in computational microscopy and wavefront shaping, his research has produced transformative technologies in computational imaging, deep-tissue imaging, lens-less microscopy, Fourier Ptychography, and AI-enabled microscopy. He holds over 90 patents, with 52 licensed to industry, and has founded or co-founded several biotechnology companies. His honors include the NSF CAREER Award, NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, multiple prestigious fellowships, and election to the National Academy of Inventors.
Associate Professor Anna Ranova Kerr
Department of Architecture
Associate Professor Anna Ranova Kerr is an architect educated in Denmark, with more than 25 years of international experience in architecture and urban design. She has worked as an architect and senior leader across Europe and Singapore, combining design practice with a strong focus on sustainability. A particular area of interest is integrated sustainable design, bringing architecture, engineering, technology and environmental performance together from the earliest stages of a project to create more resilient and low-carbon buildings and cities. She joins NUS with a strong interest in connecting academic thinking with the realities of professional practice and industry.
Assistant Professor Liu Yu
Department of Biomedical Engineering
Before joining NUS, Assistant Professor Liu Yu was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. His research lies at the intersection of AI, data science, and healthcare, with a focus on developing trustworthy methods spanning foundation models, multimodal learning, and agentic AI. By integrating medical knowledge with electronic health records, biosignals, wearable data, and other health information, his work aims to support clinical decision-making and advance biomedical discovery. He received his BEng and PhD in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University.
Ms Lim Ting Rui, Chrislyn
Assistant Manager, Department of Architecture
Chrislyn Lim joins the Department of Architecture as Assistant Manager. Prior to joining, she worked in the public sector, where she gained valuable experience in project coordination, stakeholder management, and administration. In her current role, she supports a broad portfolio encompassing teaching and academic staffing, research grant administration and management, and alumni engagement.
Miss Woo Wei Ching
Assistant Manager, Office of Student Life, Dean’s Office
With a decade of experience in education, Wei Ching has worked closely with undergraduate and postgraduate students, faculty, and recruiters across the consulting and corporate sectors. With a passion for career services, she particularly enjoys connecting students with industry partners and creating meaningful experiences for both. Her expertise spans operations and process optimisation, end-to-end event and project management, and communications. Outside of work, she enjoys music, discovering new places, and staying active through Pilates. She is excited to join CDE and settle into the College’s dynamic community.
Mr Zheng Hao, Andre
Executive, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
Mr Andre Zheng supports administrative and coordination work for the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering's graduate research programmes. Prior to joining ChBE, he worked in education administration and the public sector, where he gained experience in supporting higher education programmes and working with international students.
Mr Henry Dass s/o Selvaraj
Laboratory Technologist, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
Mr Henry Dass joined the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering bringing his years of laboratory experience, he will provide support to the research labs. He will operate common laboratory equipment, as well as support safety inspections for laboratory activities conducted in the ChBE laboratories. He will also assist with the Smart Card Access System and coordinate the disposal of electronic and laboratory chemical waste in the department.
Mr Chan Pau Hee
Laboratory Technologist, Department of Mechanical Engineering
Mr Chan Pau Hee holds a Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and brings hands-on experience in laboratory testing, equipment setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and safety practices. He is a responsible and methodical person with good technical and communication skills.
