Degree Requirements

The normal graduation requirements for the degree of MSc include accumulating a total of no less than 40 Units and obtaining a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (equivalent to the Grade of B-) for the best courses equivalent of 40 Units (inclusive of foundation/core courses, where required). Each graduate course of 39 lecture hours is usually assigned 4 Units.

Candidature

The maximum period of candidature for full-time study is two years and that for part-time study is four years. Full-time students in our programme typically are able to complete their requirements in one year (candidature period: 2 semesters), while the part-time students take two years (candidature period: 4 semesters).

* If you are an international applicant who does not have permanent residency nor valid working pass in Singapore, you are eligible to apply only for the full-time programme; if offered admission, you will be registered as a full-time student.

Graduation Requirements

The MSc Programme in Biomedical Engineering has been designed to bridge evolving needs of both research and industrial organisations.

To qualify for the degree Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, a full-time or part-time candidate must successfully complete a programme of study consisting of at least 40 Units, which consists of the following:

  • Complete the 2 core courses from the Core Courses list (8 Units)
  • Choose 8 elective courses from the Elective Courses list (32 Units)
