Professor Lim Chwee Teck, Director of the Institute for Health Innovation & Technology (iHealthtech) and NUSS Chair Professor from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, NUS has been awarded the 2026 WACBE Savio L-Y. Woo Distinguished Lecture Award, one of the World Association for Chinese Biomedical Engineers’ highest honours recognising senior scientists for pioneering contributions, leadership, and lasting impact in biomedical engineering. The awards ceremony was held during the 12th WACBE Congress on Bioengineering 2026.

Heartiest congratulations to Professor Lim Chwee Teck, Director of iHealthtech, on receiving the Eric Reissner Medal at the 32nd International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Science (ICCES 2026).

NUS Biomedical Engineering is pleased to share that Dr Yueming Jin has been awarded the NUS Presidential Young Professorship in recognition of her outstanding credentials and accomplishments since joining NUS, her internationally recognised research impact, and her potential to shape the future of AI in healthcare.

NUS BME is pleased to share that Dr Jin Yueming, has been awarded the Robert Brown Promising Researcher Award under the Ministry of Education Singapore (MOE) Academic Research Fund (AcRF) Tier 2 Grant.

Dr Andy Tay, Presidential Young Professor, is one the awardees of the Journal of NanoBiotechnology (JNB) Rising Star. The “JNB Rising Star Award” recognizes outstanding and interdisciplinary scientific achievements in nanobiotechnology by a young independent researcher. The award recipients must have demonstrated themselves to be exceptionally capable researchers with superb potential to become future leaders in the field of nanobiotechnology.

Lee Jeonghyeon, a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering under Assistant Professor Andy Tay, has been awarded the OK Bae & Jung Foundation Scholarship, selected from thousands of applicants.

Professor Lim Chwee Teck, an internationally acclaimed biomedical engineer and prolific scientist from the National University of Singapore (NUS), has been elected as an International Member of the United States National Academy of Engineering (NAE), one of the highest professional distinctions accorded to engineers worldwide.

Lee Jeonghyeon, a PhD student from Assistant Professor Andy Tay’s lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, received the Mogam Foundation Global Scholarship 2025, which awards USD 10,000 to support outstanding young scientists in biomedical science. His research develops organoid platform to study human immunity. This award will further support his academic growth and sustain his ongoing research efforts in developing advanced platforms for vaccine and immunological studies.
