Minor in Biomedical Engineering

According to the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), Asia’s MedTech sector is expected to grow at 10.5 per cent annually until 2030. Ageing society, incidence of chronic and infectious diseases, as well as sustainability of healthcare systems constitute key societal issues. Furthermore, in recent times, Singapore has tried to position itself as a hub for advancing MedTech Artificial Intelligence (AI). These important issues require a multi-disciplinary approach.

The Minor in Biomedical Engineering (BME) offers an opportunity to diversify your training towards the healthcare sector. It is intended to allow students to combine their core skill set – be it in business, science, computing, or social science – with the fundamental tenets of medical technology and engineering.

Open to all NUS students with the exception of those undertaking the Bachelor of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) degree.
