Dr Shao Huilin and her team were interviewed by TODAY for their work on the Amplified Plasmonic Exosome (Apex) system. The system is the world’s first blood-based test for Alzheimer’s disease and it is expected to be rolled out to hospitals and clinics within the next five years. Its results are comparable with the current gold standard and it has achieved significantly higher throughput at a lower cost.
