NUS BME students Team in Top 3 of the International iGEM Competition

Nine Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Duke-NUS Medicine students made NUS proud by placing 3rd in the International Genetically Engineered Machines (https://igem.org/ ) competition out of 167 undergraduate teams. The team was also awarded the ‘Best Foundational Advance’ prize, the Gold Medal Award, and nominated for Best Wiki, Best New Composite Part, Best Presentation and Best Model, a testament to their outstanding efforts.

Dr Andy Tay

Dr Andy Tay, Presidential Young Professorship, at the Department of Biomedical Engineering received the Young Scholar Award from the Asia Pacific Biomedical Engineering Consortium held on the campus of Tsinghua University.
