Admission Intake, Application Period and Outcome

There is one (1) intake per academic year. Candidates will be admitted at the beginning of the August semester of the academic year. There is no intake for January.

Application Fee

All applicants must pay a S$150 per non-refundable application fee (not inclusive prevailing GST) online.

Admission Requirements

Prospective students should have a Bachelor’s Degree with merit or second class honours, in relevant design discipline, or in an area related to the intended programme of study from an institution of recognised standing. Candidates with other qualifications and achievements deemed to be suitably prepared for the programme of study may also be considered.

The above are minimum requirements which do not guarantee admission. Selection of candidates for admission is on a competitive basis.

English Language Requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate their English proficiency by means of Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test scores.

The official TOEFL/IELTS score sheets must be provided during the online application periods, otherwise your application will not be considered.

To meet the English requirement, the minimum score expected is:

  • TOFEL (Internet-based test): 85 or
  • IELTS (Academic): 6.0

The TOEFL score or IELTS result is only valid for 2 years after the test and should be valid at the beginning of the application period.

Applicants may be waived from this requirement if they completed their degree programme taught entirely in English, situated in an English speaking country, for example (non-exhaustive list) Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States.

Other tests (including the TOEFL Institutional Test) and those that claim to be predictions, estimations, equivalents, simulations, etc. (e.g.MyBestscores), of the TOEFL or IELTS are unacceptable.

Fees and Financial Information

  • The full programme fees for Academic Year (AY) 2024/2025 are illustrated in the tables below. All fees are subject to 9% GST from January 2024.
  • The programme fees are reviewed yearly and thus subject to revisions.
  • The illustration tables below do not include the Miscellaneous Student Fees (MSF), payable on semester basis.
  • Applicants who applied on or before 31 Dec 2023, the GST rate will be based on 8%. This will apply to the application and acceptance fees.

  • The fees listed are in Singapore Dollars (S$) an inclusive of 9% GST from 2024 onwards.
  • This is a fully self-funded programme. There is no subsidy available.
  • A non-refundable application fee of S$150 (not inclusive of prevailing GST) must accompany your online application.
  • Acceptance Fee of S$2,000 (not inclusive of prevailing GST) – which will be credited towards your programme fees – is payable upon acceptance into the programme.
  • Application and Acceptance fee are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Fees are correct as at time of posting and are subject to changes without prior notice.
  • The payment of the programme tuition fees for cohorts of AY2024/2025 onwards is split into 2 payment schedule and to be paid over 2 semesters for full-time students. Complete fee must be paid before a student can graduate from the programme.
  • Students need to separately pay for Miscellaneous Student Fee (MSF) directly to the University on a semester basis. Fees are reviewed annually. For the latest Miscellaneous student fees, please refer to Registrar’s Office website here.
  • Programme fees do not include the cost of recommended textbooks and readings.
