Koola: smart autonomous windows

Open windows can leave homes vulnerable to sudden rain and changing weather conditions, potentially resulting in water ingress, property damage and reduced indoor comfort. Koola is an affordable, autonomous and adaptive smart-window system designed to respond automatically to environmental changes and help protect homes without requiring constant attention from occupants.

The system uses adaptive sensing and control to detect rain and close a window in under five seconds, while intelligently adjusting to changing environmental conditions. Designed for easy adoption, Koola features drill-less installation and completely wireless operation, with a long-lasting battery supported by solar charging.

Beyond automatic rain protection, Koola is designed as a smart, energy-efficient and modular solution that can integrate seamlessly with smart-home systems. Its self-locking mechanism enhances safety, while a web app allows users to monitor and control their windows remotely. By combining environmental sensing, automated actuation and connected-home technologies, Koola demonstrates how everyday building features can be made smarter and more responsive to their surroundings, improving convenience, protection and indoor comfort.
