Mr Lee Ting Wei, who is a Principal Consultant at PM–Partners, shared about his ample experience in the project management field for the pharmaceutical, telecommunications, and manufacturing sectors during a webinar on 3 September 2021 (Friday).
A former engineering student, Mr Lee gave examples about how various methodologies for project management can be applied in team projects such as those in EG3301R DCP Project and EG4301 DCP Dissertation. These methodologies include waterfall/traditional approach, agile-scrum method, and hybrid models. He suggested that the hybrid approach may be best suited for student projects in the Innovation & Design Programme.
Mr Lee concluded his presentation with the following advise for students:
- Recognize which stage of the project life-cycle they are at.
- Empathize with their team members.
- Acknowledge the challenges their team is facing.
- There are mitigations to help manage the chaos.
- Keep things lean and simple.
- Enjoy the process even though it is hard.
The Innovation & Design Programme thanks Mr Lee for sharing his experience and insights during the webinar.
