Biography

Tong Leong is a Product Development professional with over 30 years of experience leading teams in global companies such as Philips, Dell and Bang & Olufsen creating highly valued consumer electronics and IT products. He has a broad functional experience in Product Development, Product Management, Program Management, Procurement, Manufacturing Technologies, Quality and Business Management. His most recent role as Vice President at Bang & Olufsen, responsible for Product Creation and Global Procurement launching products with strong emphasis on Design with craftmanship via authentic materials choice.

His keen interest in exploring cutting edge technologies addressing relevant use cases to meet consumer needs or pain points, has led him to focus on technology application that enhances user experience. Another focal point is New Product Introduction; realization of design concept ideas into producible products, which require organizing and build up global cross functional or interdisciplinary teams motivated to take up the challenges of solving complex problems via innovative and creative solutions. Recently, Sustainability is an emerging topic that Tong Leong is working on, engaging industry partners on materials and process innovation based on the principles of reduce, reuse and recycle in developing a green economy.

Tong Leong received his Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics from National University of Singapore and Master of Business Administration from State University of New York at Buffalo.
