After receiving a full scholarship from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) for his BEng Electrical Engineering degree with NUS (1998 – 2002), Desmond served as an Air Engineering Officer for 9 years. His duties include MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) operations of Avionics systems on aircraft fleet and leading teams on overseas deployments.

“As I planned for a career transition from the RSAF into the private sector, I started looking for an MSc programme that could complement my technical background. I came across the MSc ISE programme and found that it is a fairly well rounded programme that could provide me with some commercial exposure,” said Desmond.

Since graduating from MSc ISE degree, his career has transitioned into management roles in the aerospace and defense industry. The MSc ISE degree has helped honed his managerial skills, particularly in reviewing existing systems, processes, and/or programs to identify opportunities to enhance accuracy and overall efficiency.
