Rather than pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy for another academic credential, Dr Faisal returned to NUS at the age of 53 with a clear purpose: to acquire knowledge that could help organisations, industries and society better navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world. As a part-time candidate, he completed his doctorate in just four years while balancing the demands of leadership at work and life as a grandfather at home.

Supply chains have always been a critical part of how businesses operate, but global disruptions in recent years reinforced Amilia’s perspective on how interconnected and strategically important they are. Amilia wanted to develop a broader perspective of supply chain management and strengthen her knowledge beyond her area of specialisation. Ultimately, she decided to pursue the MSc Supply Chain Management programme at the National University of Singapore as a full-time student.

Yang Keat chose to pursue ISE because of its versatile nature. For a resource-scarce nation like Singapore, securing raw materials, managing costs, and ensuring resilience are critical for survival. These challenges sparked Leslie’s interest in understanding supply chain dynamics, leading him to enrol in the MSc in Supply Chain Management programme at the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Management, National University of Singapore.
