MSc (MOTI) student - Marisa Lim
Marisa Lim is an adventure lover, healthcare enthusiast, and passionate musician who found her Master of Science in Management of Technology and Innovation programme incredibly fulfilling.
During the MSc programme, she had the chance to interact with a diverse and motivated group of graduate students. She shares: “I’m happy to have taken up the MSc (Management of Technology and Innovation) programme offered by CDE. It gave me countless invaluable opportunities to learn from experienced professors from academia and industry. I also got to network with students of all ages and backgrounds, gain exposure to large and small companies, and form long-lasting friendships with my peers.”
She also expanded her scope into industries she hadn’t considered exploring, such as agri-tech, sustainability, and finance. Marisa has taken every opportunity during her Master’s to explore new areas and dive into new experiences. She was the emcee for several university events, including the Institute for Engineering Leadership’s pitch showcase (E-HIVE) and the launch of a new research facility in NUS (STDCT). Both experiences honed her public speaking skills, poise, and confidence to network across all levels. In addition, Marisa took the opportunity during her summer break to undertake a summer school course in South Korea, leveraging NUS’ extensive partnerships with overseas universities.
As advised by Marisa, “Being in CDE for my graduate studies was more than just gaining content knowledge from the programme. The College offers students various opportunities to grow their network in different fields and geographies. Your academic journey is yours to craft so grasp every opportunity you can get in NUS, both within and beyond your course of study.”
She completed her MSc programme in 2023; it certainly saw her building on her foundation in Biomedical Engineering, which she majored in during her undergraduate years.
