Fast car enthusiast Eric Li experienced a career transformation from an engineer to a management consultant. This is thanks to the MSc (Management of Technology and Innovation) [MSc (MOTI)] programme he read at the NUS College of Design and Engineering (CDE).

Eric, who is into F1 and motorsports, now drives R&D performance activities and manages engineering consulting projects in the automotive industry.

Just how did his career shift gear after five years into his engineering job?

Eric explains: “The MSc (MOTI) programme had prepared me well, especially when I was interviewing for the management consultancy role. The knowledge gained from examining case studies and learning about processes, methods, and tools, gave me the confidence that I could deal with the challenges of a higher-level role.”
