Graduate Certificate in Robot Design
The Graduate Certificate (GC) in Robot Design is a project-based programme highly relevant to local industries where robot applications are rapidly growing. The projects in this programme are directly relevant to the industry and proposed by companies or NUS academic staff. This programme helps engineers expand their knowledge and skills, preparing them to tackle new challenges in related industrial fields.
A candidate is expected to pass a 2-semesters project course (8 Units) and achieve a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 (out of 5) to graduate.
GC Robot Design Course
Students may use NUSMODS to search for the latest course description:
- ME5400 Robotics Project (2-semesters, 8 units)
Period of Candidature
Maximum 2 years.
Award of Graduate Certificate
Upon completion of 8 Units with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.50 (out of 5).
For students who want to advance to the Master of Science (M.Sc) in Robotics programme, the minimum overall GPA must be 3.0 and above, and subject to the approval of the department. A submission of application to the M.Sc. programme is required.
Successfully completed courses with grade point ≥ 3.00 may be transferred, up to a maximum of 8 Units, subject to the approval from the department. The validity period of the transfer is within 5 years from the award of the Graduate Certificate.
Admission Criteria
| Eligibility | Bachelor's degree holders (with honours or equivalent) in relevant areas of robotics such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Control, Mechatronics, Automation, Robotic Engineering, Medicine Engineering, Physics etc.
The above mentioned is a minimum requirement, which does not guarantee admission; selection is on a competitive basis. |

Admission Intake
There are two (2) intakes per Academic Year. Candidates will be admitted at the beginning of each semester of the academic year, in either August or January depending on the application submitted.

The full tuition fee for the programme is SGD 11,600 before GST (SGD 12,644 including 9% GST).
Do note that you will also be charged Miscellaneous Student Fees by the university.
