HO Chih-Ming

Distinguished Visiting Professor

Chih-Ming Ho received his B.S. degree from the National Taiwan University and his Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University.  He started his career at the University of Southern California and rose to the rank of Full Professor.  In 1991, Professor Ho moved to the University of California, Los Angeles. He held the roles Ben Rich-Lockheed Martin Chair Professorship and UCLA Associate Vice Chancellor for Research from 2001 to 2005.  Currently, he is a UCLA Distinguished Research Professor and a NUS Distinguished Visiting Professor.

Professor Ho has contributed in multiple engineering, medicine and science frontiers including AI-personalized medicine, microfluidics and control of turbulent shear flows. He has been one of the 250 most cited researchers (2001-2014) across engineering fields globally, according to the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) index. Professor Ho is an elected member of the US National Academy of Engineering in 1997 and an academician of Academia Sinica in 1998. He received Doctor of Engineering honoris causa from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. e ProfessorHe is a Fellow of AAAS, AIMBE, APS and AIAA.
