Dr Jason Ku joins the Department of Mechanical Engineering as a Senior Lecturer. He received his BS, MS, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2009, 2011, and 2016 respectively. After some postdoctoral research, he taught algorithms for three years as a lecturer in the MIT Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He has a passion for simplifying difficult but useful concepts to make them more broadly accessible. His research specializes in the computational design of transformable folding structures, with multidisciplinary applications ranging from origami to robotic transformers.
