Graduate Certificate in Mechanical Engineering
The Graduate Certificate (GC) in Mechanical Engineering offers a comprehensive coverage of topics that are of great relevance to the local mechanical engineering industry, which includes control, mechatronics, robotics, manufacturing, energy, mechanics, material engineering, thermal system, aeronautical engineering and many other areas. These topics span a broad range from manufacturing processes and product design to challenges that are faced by the modern mechanical engineering industry. The courses offered in this GC programme will enhance the knowledge and expertise of the engineers and prepare them for new challenges in the related industrial sectors.
A candidate is expected to pass three courses (12 units) and achieve a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 (out of 5.0) to graduate.

Award of Graduate Certificate
Upon completion of 12 Units with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.50 (out of 5).
For students who want to advance to the Master of Science (M.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering programme, the minimum overall GPA must be 3.0 and above, and subject to the approval of the department. A submission of application to the M.Sc. programme is required.
Successfully completed courses with grade point ≥ 3.00 may be transferred, up to a maximum of 12 units, subject to the approval of the department. The validity period of the transfer is within 5 years from the award of the Graduate Certificate.
Courses are usually taught on weekday evenings from 6-9 pm. Exams may be held during working hours on weekdays.
Please refer to timetable under the M.Sc (Mechanical Engineering) programme here.
