• Option to S/U modules, with effect from Semester 2 AY2016/2017: Students (PhD/MEng) can only S/U module/s they took that semester.
  • S/U up to 4 MCs per semester (subject to student’s balance availability).
  • MEng – up to 4 MCs can be S/U
  • PhD – excluding ME5666, up to 8 MCs can be S/U; with ME5666, up to 4 MCs can be S/U.
    i.e. If PhD student takes ME5666, can S/U one ME5000 module; if PhD student is not taking ME5666, can SU two ME5000 modules.
  • S/U allowed:
    • All ME4000 modules and ME5000 modules (including OT5102, OT5301, OT5302, OT5303, OT5304  and OT5305).
  • S/U not allowed:
    • All ME6000 modules.
    • All non-ME4000, non-ME5000 and non-ME6000 modules (i.e. all cross-faculties and cross-departments modules).
  • Supervisor’s approval is first required before a student is allowed to S/U module/s.
