- PhD alumnus, Dr Nguyen Trong Dong has been appointed as Professor in the Department of Marine Technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

- Mr Tai Xu Hong (Environmental Engineering Class of 2010) Director & co-founder of Momentus Research Pte Ltd and WOW Kampung Pte Ltd received the NUS Outstanding Young Alumni Award 2020.
- Civil Engineering graduate Jason Koor might have had his flying ambitions temporarily grounded by the pandemic, but that’s not stopping his passion for aviation. Jason, who did a double degree in Civil Engineering and Management, recently founded Aircademy to help youth who are keen in the aviation industry to learn more. 2019
- Mr Vincent Loka (Environmental Engineering Class of 2015) and Mr Lim Chong Tee (Environmental Engineering Class of 2016) co-founders of WateROAM received the NUS Outstanding Young Alumni Award 2019. The NUS Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognises alumni aged 40 and below who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields. They may also have rendered excellent volunteer service to NUS and/or the community while exemplifying the best attributes of youth in today’s world.
- Er. Tan Seng Chuan (Civil Engineering Class of 1983), Chairman and Managing Director, TEMBUSU Asia Consulting Pte Ltd, received the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award at the Engineering Alumni Gala Dinner 2019 held on 8 November 2019 at NUSS Kent Ridge Guildhouse. Mr Lim Chong Tee, Chief Marketing Officer, WateROAM Pte Ltd, Environmental Engineering, Class of 2016 received the inaugural Outstanding Engineering Young Alumni Award at the same event.
- Professor Liew Mun Leong, Provost’s Chair Professor (Practice) at both NUS Engineering and the NUS Business School, NUS (Civil Engineering Class of 1970), Chairman of Changi Airport Group and Surbana Jurong Private Limited, received the NUS Distinguished Alumni Service Award. The Distinguished Alumni Service Award recognises alumni who have distinguished themselves and demonstrated tangible impact in their chosen fields, and rendered excellent volunteer service to NUS, its predecessor institutions and/or the community. 2017
- Dr Li Si (supervised by Prof. Hu Jiangyong for her PhD study during 2012-2016, currently working at Peking University, China as a postdoctoral fellow) was awarded IUVA Young Professional Award at IUVA World Congress in Dubrovnik, Croatia, Sept. 2017.
- Our CEE alumni, A/Prof Le Jia-Liang, has received an ASCE award recently (http://www.asce.org/engineering-mechanics/news/20170419-emi-and-asce-award-recipients/). He was awarded the EMI Leonardo da Vinci Award which is given out once a year for an outstanding young investigator early in their careers for promising ground-breaking developments in the field of Engineering Mechanics and Mechanical Sciences as relevant to Civil Engineering, understood in the broadest sense.
A/Prof Le Jia-Liang is our undergraduate from the class of 2003 and he has also received his Masters of Engineering from our department in 2005. He is currently teaching civil engineering in the University of Minnesota. He is given this award in recognition for his important contributions to probabilistic mechanics of quasi-brittle structures, scaling of their failure and consequent reliability-based structural design. - A feature on women who left Singapore to work in traditionally male-dominated industries overseas. These include Ms Neo Lay Kiat, an NUS Engineering undergraduate who is currently working in Dubai, with British construction firm Faithful+Gould.

- Professor Liew Mun Leong (CE class of 1970) is appointed as Provost Chair Professor (Practice) at the Faculty of Engineering’s Awards Recognition Ceremony 2013. The Provost’s Chair Appointment honours those who have gained international recognition in their field.
- Distinguished Professor Phoon Kok Kwang (CE class of 1987) received the Engineering Educator Award 2013. He also received the same award in 2012. The Engineering Educator Award recognises Engineering faculty members who have excelled in engaging and inspiring students in their discovery of knowledge.
