Congratulations to Prof. Zhang Yong and his team for their latest publication in Nature Communications. The team developed a simple, modular approach to assemble individual upconversion nanoparticles with unique properties to form a “superball”. These superballs were able to precisely control various cellular processes depending upon the excitation source used and the duration of excitation.

Recent research by Prof. Zhang Yong was published in Nature Communications and has been highlighted in Nature. They designed upconversion nanoparticles, which allows for the precise navigation of energy transfer pathways within single lanthanide ions to enable photoswitchable emissions.
