CFI Singapore at COP29: Showcasing Singapore’s Coastal Resilience on the Global Stage
Professor Adrian Law, Executive Director of CFI Singapore, recently represented the institute at COP29, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Professor Adrian presented a case study on Singapore’s integrated coastal protection strategies, sharing insights into how innovative engineering, data-driven solutions, and adaptive management. This presentation highlighted key projects and collaborative approaches spearheaded by CFI Singapore, demonstrating the critical role of partnerships in addressing the complex challenges of rising sea levels and coastal vulnerabilities.
Professor Adrian also moderated a panel discussion at the Malaysia Pavilion, focusing on advancing coastal resilience in the face of escalating climate challenges. Moderating the panel allowed the Executive Director to engage with policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers from around the world, facilitating discussions on scalable, sustainable coastal solutions that can be adapted to diverse geographies.
