CFI Annual Symposium 2026: An Overview
The CFI Annual Symposium 2026, organised by the Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore, is a flagship platform that brings together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and practitioners to advance dialogue and solutions in the coastal protection and flood resilience space.
The theme of this year's Symposium is "Adapting Cities for Coastal and Flood Resilience". It reflects the need for cities worldwide to prepare for the impacts of climate change, including rising sea levels, stronger storms and increased flooding. Through this theme, CFI aims to highlight practical strategies, showcase pioneering research, and foster collaboration among stakeholders committed to safeguarding coastal communities for the future.
In 2026, the CFI Annual Symposium will be co-located with the 6th International Symposium of Water Disaster Mitigation and Water Environment Regulation (WDWE2026) and the 2026 Asia Tsunami Workshop, creating a unique convergence of global expertise across coastal engineering, water disaster mitigation, tsunami science, and environmental regulation. The co-location aims to foster interdisciplinary exchange, strengthen regional collaboration, and and create synergies across complementary research and policy communities.
