Event Wrap-Up

We were delighted to welcome researchers from Kyoto University and the Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore for a seminar that brought together cutting-edge research, diverse perspectives, and promising pathways toward nature-based coastal protection and urban flood resilience.

The afternoon featured insightful presentations on topics ranging from wave attenuation in mangrove ecosystems to computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and flood modeling for dense urban environments.

Featured Speakers:

  • Dr. Yu-Lin Tsai – Kyoto University

  • Dr. Li Yuzhu (Pearl) – CFI Singapore / NUS

  • Dr. Junbeom Jo – Kyoto University

  • Dr. Xie Yushu – CFI Singapore / NUS

This cross-institutional exchange highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing coastal and climate challenges. Thank you to all who joined us for this energising session, and to our speakers for sharing their work and insights.

👉 Stay tuned for more upcoming events as we continue to foster dialogue and innovation in the fields of coastal protection and flood resilience.

Abstract

This seminar will feature presentations on nature-based coastal protection solutions, advanced wave modeling techniques, and innovative approaches to understanding complex coastal processes. Topics will cover wave attenuation mechanisms, mangrove ecosystem dynamics, and integrated flood modeling for coastal urban environments.
