During a heartwarming ceremony, Prof Teo Kie Leong, Acting Dean of the College of Design and Engineering (on the right), and Prof Biplab Sikdar, Head of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (on the left), presented the NUS Benefactor Tokens to Mr Ramasamy Lokanathan for his remarkable contribution.
Mr Ramasamy Lokanathan, known as Logan to many, is an esteemed alumnus who graduated from NUS with a B.Eng in 1978 and furthered his studies, obtaining an MSc in Electrical Engineering in 1983. His journey through NUS provided him not just with academic knowledge but also invaluable life skills and values, shaping his career journey.
"Inspired by the nurturing environment at NUS, I found it fitting to give back to the institution that profoundly influenced my life," expressed Mr Ramasamy Lokanathan, currently serving as the managing director of Sun Technosystems Pte Ltd.
The Ramasamy Kaliammal Bursary holds profound significance, named after Mr Ramasamy Lokanathan's mother. This bursary, with a generous contribution of SGD 312,000, is dedicated to supporting financially needy undergraduates from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). It stands as a testament to Mr Ramasamy Lokanathan's deep-rooted commitment to both honoring his mother's legacy and providing opportunities for future generations.
