On 27 August 2026, the NUS Chapter of IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) hosted a Welcome Tea to kick off the AY2025/26 Semester 1 NUS ECE Peer Tutoring Scheme.

The NUS Electrical and Computer Engineering Undergraduate Student Council (ECE USC) hosted its Freshmen Welcome Party at The Lodge, bringing together approximately 180 incoming freshmen and 20 academic advisors for an evening of introductions, interaction and community building.

NUS ECE Students Win Second Prize at Intel Cup 2026 with On-Device AI Assistant for Visually Impaired Users
A team of NUS students has won Second Prize at the Intel Cup 2026 Undergraduate Embedded System Design Competition, held in Shanghai in July 2026, for their project EdgeSight, an on-device visual-language assistant designed to support visually impaired users. The team comprises Ms. Badrinath Sandhya (Year 3, Electrical Engineering), Mr. Chan Zun Mun Terence (Year 4, Computer Engineering), and Ms. Hsu Myat Noe (Year 3, Computer Science). The project was supervised by Dr Rajesh Panicker from the NUS Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).
ECE Research on Location Privacy in Direct-to-Cell LEO Satellite Networks Receives Distinguished Paper Award at USENIX Security ’26
Research by ECE PhD student Mr. Shi Quan, under the supervision of Professor Biplab Sikdar, has received a Distinguished Paper Award at the 35th USENIX Security Symposium (USENIX Security ’26) for the paper “LPG: Raise Your Location Privacy Game in Direct-to-Cell LEO Satellite Networks.”
ECE Team Wins Best Paper Award at IEEE EMBC 2026
An ECE research team comprising Shao Yurui, Assoc Prof Arthur Tay, Assoc Prof Heng Chun Huat and Dr Yen Shih-Cheng has received the Best Paper Award at the 2026 IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference (EMBC 2026) for their paper, “Learning Temporal Dependencies of Gait Cycles for Freezing of Gait Prediction.”
