An ECE research team comprising Shao Yurui, Assoc Prof Arthur Tay, Assoc Prof Heng Chun Huat and Dr Yen Shih-Cheng has received the Best Paper Award at the 2026 IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference (EMBC 2026) for their paper, “Learning Temporal Dependencies of Gait Cycles for Freezing of Gait Prediction.”

A research review led by Professor Ang Kah Wee from the NUS Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) has been recognised as a Nanoscale Horizons 2025 Outstanding Review winner.

On 3 August, the NUS IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) Chapter conducted two exciting workshops for the NUS CDE community as part of the Innovation and Design Programme’s Week 0 Hands-on Workshops.

Professor Dipti Srinivasan from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has received the Outstanding Paper Award from IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence for the paper, "SpinalNet: Deep Neural Network with Gradual Input."

Nearly 80 alumni and guests gathered on 11 July 2026 to celebrate the 30th Reunion of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Electrical Engineering Class of 1996. Held at Eureka Taste, a restaurant owned by an EE96 alumnus, the evening was a joyful homecoming marked by laughter, shared memories and renewed friendships.

Mr. Shuhan Yang, a graduate student from the research group of Professor Hyunsoo Yang at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been awarded the Best Poster Award at the 2026 International Workshop on Ising Machine. 

On 15 April, the IEEE-HKN NUS Chapter organised an Appreciation Ceremony to express our heartfelt gratitude to the peer tutors of the AY2025/26 Semester 2 NUS ECE Peer Tutoring Scheme.

On 26 March 2026, the IEEE-HKN Lambda Omega Chapter held its second internal bonding session of the semester. The event was meant to allow members to catch up and interact with one another, and to provide a time for them to recharge and relax before the submissions and finals period.

A paper led by Dr Zhao Zhenyu’s research group at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has received the Best Symposium Paper Award (2nd Place) at the 2026 Asia-Pacific International Symposium and Exhibition on Electromagnetic Compatibility (APEMC 2026).

Professor Ho Ghim Wei from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) has been selected as the recipient of the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (SNIC)-AsCA2019 Singapore Award for Distinguished Woman Chemist 2026.

Mr. Chang Xu, a graduate student from the research group of Professor Hyunsoo Yang at NUS ECE, has been awarded the Best Student Oral Presentation Award at the 2026 IEEE International Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG 2026) held in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Dr Jin Yueming from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) has been awarded the Robert Brown Promising Researcher Award under the Ministry of Education (MOE) Academic Research Fund (AcRF) Tier 2 Grant Call.
