Admission Procedure

Admission Intake

There is one (1) intake per academic year for the Master of Science (Computer Engineering), NUSRI-Chongqing programme. Candidates will be admitted at the beginning of the first semester of the academic year in August. Full time candidature and by invitation only.

Application Procedure

The application process for Master of Science programmes is administered by the College of Design and Engineering (CDE), Office of Graduate Programmes. For more information on the application instructions, please refer to CDE website.

Applicant is to submit their application online using the Graduate Admission System (GDA) and upload the required supporting documents for assessment purpose during the applicable period. Hardcopy form and supporting documents are not required at the point of application.

All entries must be in English, including the naming of uploaded documents.

An application fee of SGD $109 (inclusive of GST)* per programme applies (non-refundable). Payment is to be made online together with application.
*Applicants who applied on or before 31 Dec 2023, the GST rate will be based on 8%. This will apply to the application and acceptance fees.

During the application period, prospective applicants are to select the following options, at the Graduate Admission System when submitting their application:

Before making the submission online, NUSRI-CQ applicants are to prepare scanned copies of the required supporting documents and ensure that the items are ready for upload in the online application system. NUSRI-CQ applicants are to provide the following:

Documentary proof of change in name
(if the name on NRIC / Passport is not identical to the name printed on your degree scroll / certificate and university transcript)

Official Transcript issued by University (in China)
  • Consolidated academic transcript for bachelor’s degree from 1st to 6th semester of studies at the University in China

Note:
To include official explanatory notes on grading system and overall CAP/CGPA/Average Mark obtained. The explanatory notes are usually found behind the official transcripts.

Academic Result from NUSRI Chongqing
  • Provide 1st semester result from NUSRI Chongqing

  • If the Degree scroll is not ready at point of application, the applicant is to provide an official status letter from the issuing University stating:
  1. if applicant has completed and fulfilled the degree requirement; or
  2. expected date of completion and expected date of conferment.

Important Notes:

  1. All supporting documents submitted in a language other than English, MUST be accompanied by an officially translated and certified copy in the English language.
  2. Documents uploaded must be clear and sharp, with no truncation.
  3. File name of documents to be uploaded must be in English.
  4. Application will be rejected if there are incomplete submission, unofficial/self-translation of transcript and/or degree scroll, required documents not provided, missing pages, false information, self-type-out of academic results etc.
  5. Any other documents not mentioned in the above table are optional only. Applicants may self-upload subject to total maximum file size not exceeding 10MB. The total combined size of all the uploaded documents should not exceed 10MB.

Candidates are requested to nominate our Institution (code 9084) to allow us access to your results online through ETS Data manager.  Scores will be verified online.
IELTS (Academic):

  1. Test Report Form (TRF) ID should be entered in the application and clearly shown in the file uploaded.
  2. Screenshots of any kind are not accepted except for IELTS indicator. My Bestscores are not accepted.
  3. IELTS scores will be verified through IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) Verification Service without any nomination.
Important Notes:

  1. Applicants are to upload either one of the official tests score/result (only if applicable).
  2. The test score must be within the 2 years validity as at application opening date.
  3. Hardcopies of the above are not required to be submitted as this will be verified online as stated.

Applicant’s Responsibility

Ensure that (i) the information you have provided is true and correct, and (ii) you have uploaded the correct required supporting documents, before submitting your application online. Once submission is made, we would not be able to entertain further change in application nor further upload of documents unless specifically requested by the Department.

Candidates planning to undertake our MSc programme must ensure that they have the financial resources to support themselves for their entire programme of study. Funds should be set aside for living expenses as well as tuition fees.

It is important that applicant is financially prepared for pursuing their graduate studies in NUS, including expenses for accommodation, transport, food, books, digital devices, etc. For an estimated cost of living in Singapore, you may use the calculator guide from an external site as reference.
