The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Internship and Career Fair was recently held on January 18th, 2023, from 11am to 5pm. This annual flagship event, jointly organised by the Department of ECE and the ECE Undergraduate Student Council, aims to provide an opportunity for ECE students to interact with various companies, both local and international, to secure internships and full-time job opportunities. The event allowed students to gain insights into the latest industry trends and to explore the wide array of career options available in the ECE field.

The ECE Internship and Career Fair attracted a large number of participating companies from various industries such as technology, telecommunications, semiconductor, and electronics. Some of the prominent companies that participated and sponsored the fair included Applied Materials, GlobalFoundries, Marquee Semiconductor, ABB, DSTA, DSO and Huawei. The fair featured booths and presentations by participating companies, giving students the opportunity to learn more about their operations, products, and services. In addition, students were able to engage with HR and technical personnel from these companies to learn about their recruitment processes and requirements.

Overall, the NUS ECE Internship and Career Fair was a highly successful event that attracted over 700 students, provided valuable opportunities for students to explore career options, network with industry professionals, and secure internships and full-time positions within the ECE field. ECE Club organised various virtual industrial visits with speakers from A*STAR ARTC (Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Center) and AMD. These sessions were organised specially for ECE students interested in obtaining knowledge regarding internships, full time employment opportunities, preferred skill sets and requirements in such technology companies. In addition to learning more about the industry, our ECE students also got the chance to learn more about these companies’ working culture and benefits. The industrial talk by AMD wrapped up with an exciting quiz where participants and winners walked away with AMD products! We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to A*STAR ARTC and AMD team for putting together an insightful learning opportunity for NUS ECE students. We would like to further thank AMD for sponsoring the gifts for the quiz!
